En or creux et travaillé au repoussé, l'anneau large est composé d'un décor identique sur chaque épaule représentant une tête humaine recouverte d'un voile surmontant deux chevaux ailés se faisant face.
Le chaton en forme d'amande est décoré en son centre d'un cheval marin.
Très belle conservation.
Pour un exemplaire similaire voir la bague en or du sépulcre de Certosa, conservée au Museo Archeologico di Bologna.
A Rare Etruscan hollowed-gold ring. Ca 5th century B.C.
Made of hollow gold and worked in repoussé, the broad hoop features identical decoration on each shoulder: a human head covered with a veil above two confronted winged horses. The almond-shaped bezel is adorned at its center with a hippocamp.
Excellent state of preservation.For comparison, see the gold ring from the Certosa tomb, preserved in the Museo Archeologico di Bologna.

Façonné à partir d’une seule pièce d’or épais martelé, ce cerf constitue un bel exemple de l’art du "style animalier" des steppes eurasiatiques durant le premier millénaire av. J.-C. En tant qu’ornement scythe, il aurait été utilisé dans la tradition de l’ostentation de la richesse.
Les grands bois du cerf s’étendent vers l’arrière, tandis que ses pattes sont repliées sous le corps, suggérant un mouvement rapide.Comme pour d’autres ornements de cerf similaires, le revers présente des anneaux permettant de l’attacher à un vêtement.
Cet exemplaire en comporte trois, fixés à l’aide d’un alliage d’or et de cuivre, ce qui était typique de l’époque.
Des exemples comparables sont conservés au Musée de l’Ermitage à Saint-Pétersbourg (J. Aruz, A. Farkas, A. Alekseev et E. Korolkova, The Golden Deer of Eurasia, GE 2498/1) ainsi qu’au Cleveland Museum of Art, inv. n° 1985.77.
A Scythian gold ornamental plaque in the shape of a stag. Ca. 5th century B.C.
Fashioned from a single piece of thick, hammered gold, this stag is a fine example of the ‘Animal Style’ art of the Eurasian Steppe during the first millennium B.C. As a Scythian ornamental accessory, it would have been used in the tradition of wealth-display. The large antlers extend to the rear of the stag, and the legs are tucked underneath, indicating urgent motion. As with similar examples of stag ornaments, the reverse features hoops, with which to attach it to clothing. This example has three, attached using a gold-copper alloy, which was typical of the period. Similar examples can be found in The State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg (J. Aruz, A. Farkas, A. Alekseev and E. Korolkova, The Golden Deer of Eurasia, GE 2498/1) and The Cleveland Museum of Art, Acc. No. 1985.77.
