Art byzantin ou médiéval, Xe-XIIe siècle
En or, le chaton de forme oval repose sur un anneau divisé en deux aux épaules. Le chaton porte l’inscription BEAT ICON et une représentation du Christ intronisé ou, peut-être plus probablement, de la Vierge Marie, flanquée d’anges. Un ange porte une palme. L’arrière de l’anneau a une petite croix. De chaque côté du chaton se trouve une petite monture (maintenant écrasée) retenant une perle endommagée.

A byzantine or medieval gold ring with depiction of enthroned Christ flanked by winged angels. The ring consists of an oval bezel supported on a hoop divided in two when it joins the bezel. The bezel bears the inscription BEAT ICON and a depiction of enthroned Christ or, perhaps more likely, the Virgin Mary, flanked by angels. One angel bears a palm frond.
The back of the hoop has a small cross. To each side of the bezel is a small setting (now crushed) retaining a damage pearl. Ca. 10th - 12 th century A.D. Accompanied with an expertise of Dr. Jack Ogden from July 2021.
