IMPORTANT OBJET RITUEL DIT «MASSE D’ARME».
contondantes n’en demeuraient pas moins des objets à haute valeur symbolique. Son origine est à resituer parmi les influences de la Mésopotamie et de l’Asie dans la Civilisation de Bactriane où la massue est fréquemment
associée aux notions de création et de fécondité. G. Liebert (Liebert 1974:67) y voit un rapport direct avec le culte de Mithra. Mithra est le dieu du Contrat, responsable de l’accord passé entre dieu et les hommes. Il y a donc aussi une
symbolique possible de l’ordre (le bâton de Justice).

Important Bactrian schist fusiform ritual object. Made from a single block of stone. This category of object is considered a “weapon mace” because certain examples were found with their mace head. These blunt weapons nonetheless
remained objects with high symbolic value. Its origin is located among the influences of Mesopotamia and Asia in the Bactrian Civilization where the club is frequently associated with the notions of creation and fertility. G. Liebert
(Liebert 1974:67) sees a direct connection with the cult of Mithras. Mithra is the god of Contract, responsible for the agreement between god and men. There is therefore also a possible symbolism of order (the stick of Justice).
